Bakersfield.com has a great way for your organization to get a free web presence. You can start a blog on our website that is free and easy to use. You can post information about volunteers, events or anything that you want to for your organization and interact with the community! You can even add your logo to your blog.
Step 1:
If you have a profile already and just want to add a blog, skip to step 3.
Go to people.bakersfield.com and in the Log-in box, click Register now for free! You will need to have a profile to get a blog. Fill out the basic information that is needed, which will only take a moment, and click enter. You will then receive an email from Bakersfield.com that will confirm your registration. Click on the link in the email! Once you do that, you are registered with Bakersfield.com. Change your password and click enter.
Step 2:
To add a picture to your profile and information to your About Me section, on the left hand side, there is a box that has a bunch of buttons with places to go. The last button will be Edit your profile and Settings, click on it. Click on About Me. This is where you can upload your photo or logo and add information about your organization.
Step 3:
To create a blog, click Post Something New. Then click on Blog It! Once you click on that a window will come up to set up your blog. Fill out the information and the click Now, Setup my blog. Congratulations, you now have your blog and are ready to write about anything and everything for your organization! To make your first post, click on Post Something New again and click Blog It. Then type away!
